Info about Kalamaki
Kalamaki is a small town and a popular holiday destination on the Chania coast, located about 6 km west of Chania. The town lies between the tourist towns of Kato Daratso and Kato Stalos in a peaceful setting with plenty of opportunities for walks in the surrounding scenic areas.
Kalamaki has good beaches along the coastal road, and the main beach in Kalamaki is a long sandy stretch with calm and clear water. It is not as crowded as many other beaches on the Chania coast. There are simple beach bars with sunbeds and umbrellas.
In Kalamaki, there is a small fishing port where the colorful small Cretan fishing boats bring in their catch for the local restaurants, and there are plenty of opportunities to find a good place to eat.
